in2being was approached to create a durable and functional prototype of a patient positioning system for neonatal lumbar puncture. Current practice requires the practitioner to stabilize the infant while inserting a lumbar needle—a traumatic experience at best. The in2being team took an existing, student-built prototype and refined it to allow clinicians to evaluate the device’s usability.
